Shrewsbury Borough School and the Board of Education sought the district’s next leader in Spring 2026.
The Shrewsbury Board of Education partnered with professional search firm Strategic Exemplary Alliance to guide the community engagement and superintendent recruitment process.
Shrewsbury Borough School is an extension of our special community. The board fully appreciated the community’s input in finding a leader who is the best fit for our district.
The Timeline
January – February 2026: Shrewsbury Borough School and the Board of Education continue the superintendent search process by seeking community input from staff, students, parents, and Shrewsbury community members. This includes input sessions, focus groups, and an online survey.
- Feedback will be used to develop a leadership profile that will be included in ads for the next superintendent’s desired qualities.
- The application process will begin.
Early March 2026 – The Board will begin to interview candidates, with a targeted timeline to select the final candidate by spring break.
Late March 2026 – The Board anticipates providing a status report on the interview/selection process and announcing to the community if the next superintendent has been chosen.
April 2026 – The Board notifies the community ahead of appointing Rick Cohen as the next superintendent-principal to lead SBS, who will begin his tenure on July 1.
