Shrewsbury Borough School District Celebrates the Opening and the Completion of Construction for Building Addition

Referendum Update
September 2025

After years of work and planning, it is exciting to celebrate the future of Shrewsbury Borough School. 

Construction projects inside and outside the building addition were completed in time to start the 2025-26 school year, but not before the school invited the entire community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony and building tours. 

Community members of all ages entered the building with anticipation and big smiles as they walked through the new space. 

The addition contains three pre-K classrooms and an all-purpose (APR) that is already providing more flexibility for scheduling daily activities. 

Students eat lunch in the APR and use the original gym for physical education and assemblies. New playground equipment, installed outside the addition, also keeps our Tigers active as they catch up with their peers and make new friends. 

The addition now stands as a new chapter for our tight-knit school. SBS thanks everyone for being part of this special journey for our students, staff and the entire Shrewsbury community!
